In 1957, the history of the Cattail Creek Estate Winery began when our maternal grandfather, Opa Epp, planted our first grape vines in the Niagara Peninsula.
Ken and Renate Dyck followed his passion for viticulture and purchased their first vineyard in 1971. It definitely was a different industry back then, but years of hard work, dedication and passion have created what we have today - a vineyard respected for producing top-quality wine grapes.
They are now joined by
their daughter
Roselyn
and her husband
Andrew, who combine years of experience in the wine industry with a passion for
wine and their son, Warren,
who is bringing new and innovative ideas to the family
vineyard.
In 2006, the family dream became a reality with the creation of Cattail Creek Estate Winery. By hand selecting the best grapes from our vineyards, we created our first vintage of wines featuring Riesling,
Vidal, Merlot and Cabernet Franc - grapes which have previously been used to produce award-winning wines at other top-quality Ontario wineries.
Our goal is to be recognized as a premium producer of Canadian wines by working together with our winemaker, Colin Ferguson, to produce excellent value, estate grown wines that exhibit the wonderful and unique characteristics of Niagara on the Lake.
At Cattail Creek Estate Winery, over 50 years of grape growing experience has allowed us to grow the best wine that the Niagara Region has to offer.
